Our Story

We built Aposto because we saw the problems of delivering safety briefings at venues and events. Training and briefing event workers is usually done verbally. It’s costly, time-intensive, outdated and error prone. Safety and fan experience are compromised; venue managers don’t know who to employ or promote, and safety certificates are at risk. Working with safety officers to develop the platform, we built other features they wanted; easy scheduling, training modules, and our live staff check in maps that show exactly who is on site. Aposto empowers organisations around the world, from football clubs to global event companies and everything in between.

Our Passion

Our passion for safety arose out of the numerous stadium tragedies around the world.  Our founder Cathy Long was deeply affected by the Hillsborough Disaster and that’s where it all began.  She has been campaigning for safer grounds ever since. Her journey took her to working with the football authorities, including 15 years leading safety and fan experience at the Premier League.   Aposto is the culmination of everything we’ve all learned along the way; how to keep fans safe.

Our Philosophy

Simple

Event management software should reduce complexity, not add to it.

Collaborative

Working together as a team is the best way to manage your events.

Comprehensive

A central location for all your event data is key to staying organised.

Informative

Event data is has to be presented in a way that helps you and your team make better decisions.

Meet our Founder

Cathy Long is our CEO and founder of Aposto.  Her journey started with the Hillsborough Disaster, when she started campaigning for safer grounds.

With 15 years leading the Premier League’s work in safety and fan experience, Cathy has worked with 54 clubs across leagues in the UK and Europe.  She has also worked with the FA, the Football Supporters’ Association, the Football Safety Officers’ Association and co-wrote the Accessible Stadia Guide.  She has led change across the sector, creating English football’s Equality Standards, the Visit Football match experience programme and a range of best practice models across football.

Previously a Trustee of Kick it Out, the National Football Museum and City of Liverpool FC, Cathy is passionate about ensuring the safety of everyone who attends sports events

Our Partners

Populous backed us from the start and we’re in awe of the many incredible stadia and arenas they’ve designed around the world.

And we’re so pleased to integrate our software with Suprema‘s biometric facial recognition devices, giving our clients a seamless experience from induction and briefing to training and checking in to work.
